Some concerns about the draft

[edit]

I am studying to be an AfC reviewer and looked over your draft. I wanted to mention some concerns which you should address while waiting for review.

(1) A lot of points are cited to primary research papers which mention them in passing. It would be better, when possible, to use secondary sources such as review papers (your source "Cannabinoid receptor 1 ligands" is a great example but only for receptor 1) and only use primary papers when their research directly involves your claim. I am left feeling that these sources may have been found by LLM, which can be acceptable but do not trust the LLM's summary of the source, they are not reliable for that purpose.

(2) Everything I have read about Epidiolex says that it is purified from plants, but the article refers to it as synthetic--what is the source for this? And referring to CBD in general as synthetic is definitely wrong.

(3) The second paragraph under Theraputic Uses is confusing as it doesn't separate CB1R agonists from antagonists.

(4) Under Mechanism of action for CBD there is confusion throughout this paragraph between cannabidiol and cannabinoid. (I'd use "CBD" a lot more to help avoid this.) This may happen elsewhere as well.

(5) The detail on individual drugs may be excessive, given that individual articles already exist.

(6) A little history would be a nice long-term addition to the article, though definitely not needed to get through review!
