Orphaned references in Bruno Fernandes (footballer, born 1994)

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Bruno Fernandes (footballer, born 1994)'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Introduction edit warring

There is a useless dispute on the introduction involving primarily two users. I suggested a final edition by using the information provided by both of the users, but one of the users reverted it. I am trying to end the edit warring, there is no reason for carrying on with it, neither there was any good reason to undo my suggested edition, it is like one of the users is imposing what he wants and so demanding the article by preventing a clearer information can be provided. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Elcorteingles1 (talk • contribs) 19:49, 3 February 2020 (UTC)

I removed the extra info about additional fees in the transfer because it is not germane to the introduction of the article. The important fee is the one that will definitely be paid by Manchester United to Sporting - anything else is just window dressing and can be mentioned (and is mentioned) in the appropriate section of the biography. Even searching for "bruno fernandes" "maritimo", which is the club for whom the guy born in 1974 played over 100 matches, only yields results relating to the 1994-born footballer. The writing

I know this is simply a page about a football player but this section really bothers me "Directness also means that Fernandes tends to take a lot of risks with the type and level of passes he attempts to complete, especially because he often tries to deliver killer ones." Can we talk about the fact that opinion based sources are not valid?

The language could perhaps use rewriting. But while "Fernandes is a great footballer" is an opinion, "many people consider Fernandes to be a great footballer" is a fact, and such assessments are very often, usefully included in Wikipedia pages. AntiDionysius (talk) 17:28, 16 September 2023 (UTC)

I have no strong thoughts either way on inclusion (beyond removing it when it's not sourced and removing unsourced content) but can we get some sort of discussion going on whether or not Fernandes is in fact regarded as one of the best midfielders in the world at the moment? The content has been repeatedly removed and restored over the last few days so I'd like to know if editors see current sources as reflecting this or not. Its probably not possible to not include it, unless the page is permanently locked. Like in most biographies of these kinds of players, IPs will relentlessly spawn and bruteforce this content into the lead. --FMSky (talk) 18:33, 5 March 2025 (UTC)

 Not done, "attacking midfielder" is already in the article (6 seperate times) and no need for the addition of "widely" to "regarded" (making "widely regarded") when the supporting citation in the lead's first paragraph cites a list ranking the article subject #4.
