“He was raised by both of his parents.”

This appears redundant given that both parents are already named in the preceding sentence. I looked at the early life of other second-gen players: Devin Booker and Jon Barry. In these cases, family structure is notably complex and requires clarification about who raised the player.

In this article, however, both parents are named and no later distinction relies on this clarification. Including a standalone sentence specifying that he was “raised by both parents” appears unnecessary and gives WP:UNDUE emphasis to a detail that does not require disambiguation.

I suggest merging the sentences to say “He is the son of (parent 1) and (parent 2), who married in (year),” - similar to other second-gen players assumed/implied to have been raised by both parents: Stephen Curry, Austin Rivers, David Stockton. Everyone has two biological parents, but it doesn't necessarily mean that they were raised by them. In James' case, perhaps the point being made is that his parents were single, and they raised him together before marrying years later. —Bagumba (talk) 07:16, 7 February 2026 (UTC)

It is just abundantly clear to anyone who has an actual understanding of the naming policy here that this proposal is clearly against policy.
