Ryan was the first female editor of a national Irish newspaper - her appointment predates that of Fiona McHugh at the Sunday Tribune and Geraldine Kennedy in the Irish Times. In order to establish independent notability, under WP:NJOURNALIST and WP:SIGCOV, there would ideally be more sources which deal with the subject as a bio topic in own right. As noted as part of the AfC process, many of the sources given, while useful for supporting the text, don't really establish independent notability. The only sources, which deal with the topic in own right, are those announcing appointment to editor role in 1992/1993. Which could, potentially, fall under WP:BIO1E. (The holder of a particular role or job [or type of job] aren't considered inherently notable. Including newspaper editors.) Much of the text of the "career" title could potentially be covered WP:WITHIN the The_Irish_Catholic#History title/section. As it deals primarily with the newspaper's activities. And the subject's role in those activities. What this would mean for the text of the "later activities" section (apology letters to Pilgrim House founders, accusatory leaflets on incest, accosting priests at mass, etc) I'm not sure. Personally I wonder if this title should be a redirect to a section of the The_Irish_Catholic title (as the subject's notability is bound to that topic)....
