  • Source: Projector & Screen- ref 20 Callaghan "After 50 years, Eastern Washington's only drive-in theater changes hands"The only challenge that remained was how they were going to get a new digital projector to replace the outdated film one. New projectors usually cost around $90,000. A solution arose when one of Wisner’s friends told him he could buy a projector for $30,000 for the Alpine and then replace Auto-Vue’s projector with the one that previously had been in the Alpine. Wisner said from there, “everything worked out perfectly.” He had a few friends who were welders – the price of steel was down at the time – and a semitruck driver willing to carry cargo for free culminated in Auto-Vue’s survival."

Screen - Ref 20 Callaghan & Ref 19 Clark "Here's to a happy ending for Colville Auto-Vue". "A tip lead him to Soap Lake for a used screen that was still standing and in good, non-rusty shape. It was his for a $4,000 scrap metal fee"

Hops-Ref 19 Clark "His plan back then was to close the drive-in, which his family had operated since 1974, and turn the land into a hops farm.
    • ALT1: ... that by 2013 the Auto-Vue Drive-In Theatre was Eastern Washington's last operating drive-in? Source: Ref12 Hansen "Colville's Auto Vue Drive-In falling victim to technology's high price": "Last year, the Auto Vue announced that 2013 would be its final season. After that, there will be no drive-ins in Eastern Washington."

ref 20 Callaghan "After 50 years, Eastern Washington's only drive-in theater changes hands" title and " Today, there are about 335 left, only five of which are in Washington. The only one left in Eastern Washington, Auto-Vue Drive-in Theatre, was recently bought by a couple, along with Colville’s other cinema, the Alpine Theatre."

    • ALT2: ... that the Auto-Vue Drive-In Theatre was one of 300 U.S. theaters to show Garth Brooks: A Drive-In Concert Experience during the 2020 lockdown? Source: Ref 15 Chareunsy "Brooks makes a drive-in date with fans". "The three nearest venues airing the concert are listed on ticketmaster...and Auto Vue Drive-In Theatere in Colville.."

Ref 16 Johnson "Garth Brooks' special drive-in concert is Saturday. Here's where you can watch it in Utah". "Last Friday, hundreds of thousands of fans waited online anywhere from two to four hours to get a ticket to a special drive-in concert the country star is performing for 300 drive-in theaters across North America this Saturday"

  • Will be picking this up for review, will complete it by tomorrow. Either ALT0 or ALT1 could be used, but ALT2 is not interesting. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 13:56, 12 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
  • The article was new enough at the time of the nomination and meets length requirements. I did not find any close paraphrasing, and a QPQ has been provided. Either ALT0 or ALT1 work (with a slight preference for ALT1) as they are interesting; however, ALT1 is not currently DYKHFC compliant, so I cannot sign that off until that is addressed. In addition, the article needs a copyedit as I noticed multiple grammatical issues and typos: for example, "Memorial day" and "digital only distribution" (lacking a hyphen). A single use of "unfortunately" also needs to be removed per WP:WTA. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 13:14, 13 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Technically not, but it would be better for those issues to be fixed anyway. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 00:15, 14 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
You do not have the authority to hold up a nomination for minor grammar issues that do not violate policy. Either the DYN criteria are fulfilled or specific DYK rules need to be supplied with rational.--Kevmin § 00:49, 14 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
It's not much work to fix those grammatical errors. A request for copyediting is reasonable even if it's not part of the DYK criteria. I have brought up such requests in previous reviews, this is literally the first time I have seen resistance to such a request. Initial copyedit preformed. --Kevmin § 01:30, 14 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. I spotted a new error that was introduced during the copyedit: "Teh Auto-Vue". This will be good to go with either ALT0 or ALT1 once that's done; I've taken the liberty of linking to hops in ALT0 just in case readers do not know the context of that term (they might think "hops" as in hopping).
