Have editted Diving insects considerably, now it seems that a better title for this info would be "Aquatic insects", as the former is like categorizing Jumping mammals. --azwaldo

Habitat

There should be a section discussing habitats and microhabitats of aquatic insects. This includes riffles, runs, pools. Fresh water body types and the differences in insect communities could be another topic TanyaDapkey (talk) 23:18, 13 October 2020 (UTC)

Overall this article seems like its got a decent base! There aren't many things I would take out, but I do think there are a lot of areas that could be added to.

-The lead section. This lead section definitely needs a lot of work. It mentions that aquatic insects "feed the same way other insects do", which feels far too vague, especially when there is no other info in the article about feeding habits. Same goes for the line about how diving beetles hunt.

-Breathing section: I think this section could be explained in detail a bit more. There are very specific words or processes in this section with hardly any explanation, which I think makes it hard for the average reader to follow.

-I think adding a section about feeding habits would be good. What do they eat? How do they eat (e.g. mouth parts)? What eats them?

-More inline citations

-A water quality section would be cool. What species can survive in bad water conditions? What do different species presence tell us about the water quality?

-Maybe a little life cycle/time line section would be good too! Do these species spend most or all of their lives in water, or just their early lives? Maybe a few examples of common aquatic species (dragonflies or something?) and their life cycles: eggs are laid in/on [blank], they hatch after [idk how long], they spend [blank] days/weeks living in water before [metamorphosis?], and spend the rest of their lives out of the water.
