Why is an article on American Jews illustrated with a photo of the grave of a Confederate soldier?

The title says it all: why pick a picture of a grave of a Confederate soldier? There are a huge num ber of other choices that do not tie Jews to slavery, even indirectly. How about a photo of the grave of a Jewish Union soldier. More Jews fought for the Union than the confederacy. Or, if you want 'balance,' put them together. Or show a photo of a grave from WWII, where far more Jews fought than during the civil war. The title, American Jews, is not in line with other ethnic or religious groups. Why?

Other ethnic groups are referred to as "XXXX Americans", like Italian or Spanish Americans. Religious groups are titled as "XXXX In America", like Islam or Christianity in America. The title is clearly not in line with these other established articles and implies a difference, especially in light of dual loyalty tropes. ~2026-38207-0 (talk) 15:40, 18 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
