Translation/meaning of the "Al Qaws" name itself

At a glance, the English version of the organization's About Us page doesn't appear to specify what their name means or why it was chosen, but Wiktionary translates "قَوْس" as "bow". I *assume* it's a fairly safe bet that this refers to the rainbow symbolism used by many LGBTQ+ communities, but could someone with more knowledge of Arabic connotations confirm this before it gets added to the main article?
