The Irishman - Oscar Nomination

Please consider modifying the 2020 section where the film The Irishman is referenced for an Oscar Nomination. It currently reads:

...he received an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor nomination. Consider revising to:

... he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

or he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

The sentence structure seems awkward and misleading as it states he received an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor with nomination as an after thought (and not highlighted). Brooklyn624 (talk) 15:30, 21 December 2024 (UTC)

@Brooklyn624  Done. The sentence in general was a run-on as is, w/ that semicolon, so I'm glad you called my attention to it. Needed to be broken off into its own. I rephrased it as "…he received a Best Supporting Actor nomination at the 92nd Academy Awards—his ninth to date." Highlights the award, calls attention to the ceremony for the film's overall achievement, and addresses his current record. --Cinemaniac86^Talk_Stalk 16:34, 21 December 2024 (UTC)

Well misstakes are made. And under bigger cuircundtances. Al Pacino had 100 minutes of screening time in God father 1 and Marlon Brando only 30 minutes. The whole story revolves around Pacinos character Michael Corleone. That was an obvious error. Al Pacino should have been nominated as best lead actor and Marlon Brando as best supporting actor. But Hollywood did not want to give the reward to someone not famous at the time they wanted to give it to a household name. But history catches up with you. Today Al Pacino is the much more famous of the 2 with an incredible amount of movies hard to match by any actor if it even can be matched. ~2026-31842-67 (talk) 08:13, 29 May 2026 (UTC)

Godfather Oscar nomination

The 1972- section of the article claims Pacino boycotted the 1973 Academy Awards because he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor instead of Best Actor however according to Pacino himself this claim is false. If it was because of the fact he had more screening time thats understandable as he had 100 minute screening time in God father 1 and Marlon Brando only 30 minutes of Screening Time and the whole movie is the story about Michael Corleone. Hollywood worked like that at those times, the perfect candidate for best supporting Act Marlon Brando is because he was a famous name put in the wrong caregory. However history catches up with you. Today Al Pacino is the much more famous actor of the 2. As I stated above according to Pacino he didn't non-attend because of that at all. Now theoretically there is obviously a possibility Pacino is lying however there is no real evidence to back that. In any case it seems someone has now edited the text so that it now finally has Pacino's side of the story. Firestar47 (talk) 11:59, 30 May 2026 (UTC)
