I work for The Kalgidhar Society (which operates Akal Academy and its Educate To Save sponsorship programme) and am requesting this edit per Wikipedia's conflict-of-interest guidelines rather than editing the article directly.
I'd like to propose adding a new section on Educate To Save, the organisation's child sponsorship initiative, which is currently undocumented on this page. The content below is drawn from independent published coverage (India CSR, DNA India) rather than the organisation's own materials.
Proposed text:
Educate To Save
[edit]Educate To Save is a child sponsorship initiative of The Kalgidhar Society, Baru Sahib, that connects donors with students from economically disadvantaged rural families studying at Akal Academy schools.[1]
According to India CSR, as of mid-2026 the programme reported supporting more than 33,900 students with free or subsidised education across the 130-school Akal Academy network, with more than 9,000 additional children awaiting sponsorship at the time.[1]
In June 2026, Educate To Save received the CSR Award for "India's Largest Rural Child Sponsorship Programme" at the 7th Bharat CSR & Sustainability Summit & Awards, organised by The Brainalytics in New Delhi.[1]
Notable beneficiaries
[edit]Jashandeep Kaur, a student at Akal Academy Reeth Kheri in Punjab supported through the Educate To Save scholarship programme, scored 98.4% and secured All India Rank 4 in the CBSE Class XII 2026 medical-stream examinations. Her achievement was reported in multiple outlets.[2][3]
