- I concur that this article needs some attention. Is this supposed to be for light only, or rather a solution of the Schroedinger equation, as earlier derived in quantum mechanics by Berry and Balazs in https://pubs.aip.org/aapt/ajp/article/47/3/264/235368/Nonspreading-wave-packets ? - Agree. Would be nice to have some clarification: a beam of what? propagating in what medium?
- If this is a solution of the Schrödinger equation, this means it is a solution for a beam of massive particles, not light. And, the Schrödinger equation still obeys Newton's laws of conservation of momentum. If the beam is accelerating, it must be reacting against some medium, so this is not a solution to the Schrödinger equation in free space, but in some medium. What kind of medium?
