Era: BC or BCE?

Since this article incorporates the text of an article from DGRG, it seems odd to change the era from "BC" to "BCE", as that's not what the source text uses. Is there a particular reason for this change? There should probably be a very good reason to change the original text, as readers can't be expected to know that what they're reading has been altered from the original.
