@Srnec Adding a source from which a footnote is from without access or quoting it does not strengthen a claim. You have again removed the name Abou-l-Khareg without stating such in your edit summary despite my already telling you that it is sourced Please see WP:WINNING. @Red Phoenician: I do not need to strengthen the claim anymore then you need to strengthen the Mardaite/Maronite 'claim' offered up by a 19th-century author without explanation or evidence. In fact, the footnotes points to another author, whom I added and you removed. That author actually gives an explanation on the cited page, not a footnote: the name Abulchares is attested in Greek historiography for an Arab leader, Al-Hasan ibn Ali al-Kalbi. "Abou-l-Khareg" is an irrelevant 19th-century French conjecture. See WP:AGE MATTERS. Srnec (talk) 20:36, 24 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for providing the quote. It seems this is another footnote assuming he is Arab based on name alone. However, I have found other sources that refer to Abulchares as a "Saracen" so this is not an isolated claim. It is still important to include the title Abou-l-Khareg for better clarity on who the said individual is. Red Phoenician (talk) 02:17, 26 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
