Description of suggested change: change it from 1/2 to 1/4 of the killed being children because eve spanglers book literally says "100 Palestinians in Ramallah, probably a quarter of them children" also add "In clashes with" because it adds specificity into the exact circumstances of the deaths rather than leaving harmful ambiguity Diff:

If it says “probably” then it’s vague, and you should definitely not use wiki voice to say it.

Also, there is a note on ref.26 saying “non-primary source needed”. This reference should actually be straight to the primary source, as per WP:NOR which says “… a primary source is generally the best source for its own contents, even over a summary of the primary source elsewhere… ~2026-25422-1 (talk) 21:15, 12 January 2026 (UTC)

Description of suggested change: I don't see any mention of a roadblock in pages 96-97 of the quoted source. The Hebrew wikipedia mentions a traffic jam and as far as I know people, they say traffic jam also, but I don't have any English sources for that. I think the least we can do is add a note to ask for a source here.

The current source at the end of the sentence says basically nothing about events preceding the arrest, and only talks about the context in which it was happening, and that they were taken to this specific police station rather than another one.

I now read in ref 3 (Danny Dor) at the very end of p. 123, that "The soldiers lost their way and somehow arrived at the Palestinian police roadblock" so that ref could be used on the first clause. Slomo666 (talk) 21:08, 17 November 2025 (UTC)

Thanks for the offer, and despite thinking it is actually necessary to have a source for every aspect of every page unless a claim is so obvious that disputing it would be absurd, (or else risk violating the high standard enwiki sets for itself) I will not bother you or other volunteers with this if you do not think it meets the threshold for a request at this stage.

False information, they were not military

Both of them being construction workers, not military. One was russian inmigrant who could never have serve in the military in israel and yosef was a construction worker. Misinformation being done purposely and edition being locked just creating a false narrative ~2026-56835-3 (talk) 04:32, 11 February 2026 (UTC)

I have never used a talk page before, so forgive me for any breeches of common etiquette. The article lists the person whose funeral was held on the morning of 12 October 2000 as Khalil Zahran, and cites a book. I looked through the listed pages of the book myself through my university library, and the only paragraph that mentions Zahran makes no mention of age. shireen.ps lists Zahran as 25 years old, as does B'Tselem. I filtered for fatalities in the West Bank between 10 October 2000 and 11 October 2000. While a 17 year old did die on 10 October 2000 in Tulkarm, Zahran is listed as being 25 years old. So I propose the article be modified to at least remove any mention of age since the 17 year old figure doesn't even come from a source. Also, I will try to find a reputable source that lists Zahran's correct age. NylonAcme2006 (talk) 19:46, 8 July 2026 (UTC)

Also, the second paragraph starts by calling Zahran a Palestinian child. He should instead just be called a Palestinian with no mention of his age until a source is found that actually mentions his age. I agree that the current wording should be reconsidered because the sourcing does not appear to support the claims being made. The article's citation does not verify either the age or the characterization as a child, which raises WP:V and WP:WEIGHT issues. There are also conflicting sources regarding both Zahran's age and the circumstances of his death:

• Hamas's Palestinian Information Center (2021): "their detention coincided with the conclusion of a funeral attended by thousands of Palestinians for Khalil Zahran (17 years old), who was killed in clashes with the occupation forces
• Shireen Observatory advoacy group: Khalil Bader Zahran Lawrence (25 years old) from Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate, was martyred on 10/11/2000 in Ramallah/Ramallah and Al-Bireh as a result of being directly targeted with live ammunition by the occupation army.
• Linguist and activist Daniel Dor (2004): "The funderal of a Palestinian civilian, Halil Zahran, who was killed in clashes with the IDF two days earlier, had just ended.
• UAE-government owned Al-Bayan (2001) Khalil Zahran 25 - Ramallah
• Donald Macintyre (20217): "Khalil Zahran, a seventeen-year-old who had been killed by Israeli forces two days earlier."

Given these inconsistencies, we cannot state in Wikivoice his age as fact. At minimum, the unsupported age should be removed perWP:BURDEN. Likewise, referring to him as a "Palestinian child" is not supported by the current citation. A more neutral wording, such as "the funeral of Palestinian Khalil Zahran" would more accurately reflect the sourcing. Separately, the sources also differ on whether he was killed during clashes or was directly shot, so that point may also warrant more nuanced wording rather than presenting one account as undisputed. relevance of the funeral
