Slushy Noobz is a Canadian YouTube channel composed of Hamzah Al-Emad (born March 5, 2002) and Martin Andrijasevic (born March 25, 1999). The duo, based in Toronto, originally became popular separately on TikTok, starting the channel together in 2023.
Early life
[edit]Hamzah Al-Emad was born on March 5, 2002, in Sanaa, Yemen. He was born in his grandfather's living room. Al-Emad later moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, in the U.S., where his father received a degree, and then attended a K-8 school in Makanda, Illinois.[1] When he was seventeen, Al-Emad moved to Calgary due to concerns over his immigration status in the U.S.[2] He later moved to Toronto, where he began working in company management.[1]
Martin Adrijasevic was born on March 25, 1999, in Edmonton, Alberta.[1] He is of Croatian heritage[3] and attended a French Catholic school. Adrijasevic made his little brother record videos of him when they were children; by this time, they had moved to Ottawa. He studied math and computer science at university and played varsity water polo.[1]
Career
[edit]Before creating the Slushy Noobz YouTube channel, Al-Emad and Adrijasevic were both established influencers on TikTok, with Al-Emad being a member of the group 4freakshow during the COVID-19 pandemic.[4] They both connected over the app and met each other in-person in Toronto, when Adrijasevic slept over at Al-Emad's to go to an EDM festival in the city. Al-Emad later convinced Adrijasevic to move to Toronto from Ottawa.[2] They created the Slushy Noobz channel in May 2023; its name came from inputting the prompt "make a name for a gaming channel involving the meme 'wocky slush'" into ChatGPT.[5] In October of that year,[2] they also created their podcast, Out of Character.[6] The channel began gaining traction in 2025, when their gaming, vlogging, and mukbang videos became popular. They are also known for their pop culture references.[7] In June 2026, they embarked on a month-long, cross-country tour of Canada.[8][9][10][11]
