SRP Federal Credit Union (SRPFCU) is an American federally chartered and member owned credit union headquartered in North Augusta, South Carolina. Founded in 1960, the credit union serves members throughout sections of the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA). They offer a variety of financial services, including savings and checking accounts, consumer loans, mortgages, credit cards, investment, certificate of deposit, and digital banking.[2] The organization is regulated by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA).
As of 2026, SRP Federal Credit Union serves more than 200,000 members and manages over $2 billion in assets, making it one of the largest credit unions headquartered in South Carolina.
History
[edit]SRP Federal Credit Union was established on March 7, 1960, by employees of the Savannah River Plant, a U.S. Department of Energy nuclear reservation located near Aiken, South Carolina. The institution was created to provide affordable financial services to the plant employees and their families.
Throughout the following years, the credit union decided to expand their field of membership beyond their original employee base, opening branches throughout the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA). The organization began offering more diverse options for financial services, including mortgages, investments, certificate of deposit, and others.
In 2010, SRP celebrated their 50th anniversary by burying a time capsule containing historical documents and artifacts. [3] The capsule was opened 15 years later during the organization's 65th anniversary celebration on March 25, 2025. Later that same year, SRP revealed a museum at their administrative campus highlighting the organization's history and community impact, with some of the time capsule items being included.[4]
In August 2017, SRP Federal Credit Union acquired the naming rights to the new baseball stadium in North Augusta, South Carolina, through a long-term sponsorship agreement with the Augusta GreenJackets. The facility was subsequently named SRP Park ahead of its opening in 2018. The agreement represented the largest corporate sponsorship in the GreenJackets' history at the time and reflected SRP's longstanding presence in the CSRA. Although the financial terms of the agreement were not publicly disclosed, the stadium has since served as both the home of the Augusta GreenJackets and a venue for community events, concerts, and other public gatherings.[5]
Operations
[edit]SRP Federal Credit Union is regulated by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) and deposits are insured by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF).[6]

In late 2025, SRP announced they had developed a mobile branch unit. It began working alongside other branches in June 2026.[8]

In 2026, SRP was included on Forbes' list of Best-In-State Credit Unions. The institution has also received regional business and community leadership awards.[9][10]
