Pete Licata is a barista [1] who won the World Barista Championship in Melbourne, Australia, in May 2013, while working at Parisi Coffee in Kansas City, MO as Parisi Coffee's quality assurance manager.[2] He won the United States Barista Championship a month earlier that year in April, 2013.[3]

He founded the Melbourne, Australia based Caffeine Control Coffee in 2025 with his wife which offers single-origin decaffeinated coffee.[4]

He began his career in coffee in 2003 in Kansas City, MO after attending a workshop with World Barista Champion Tim Wendelboe.[5]
