Lynford Sackey (born 18 February 2003) is an English professional footballer who plays as a right winger or right back for Southern League Premier Division South club Bracknell Town.

Club career

He made his debut for Reading on 15 September 2020 in a 1–0 EFL Cup defeat at home to Luton Town.[3][4] In summer 2021, Sackey agreed his first professional contract with the club.[5][6] On 20 May 2022, Reading confirmed that Sackey would leave the club upon the expiration of his contract.[7] On 17 June 2022, it was announced Sackey would join Bolton Wanderers upon the expiry of his Reading contract and link up with Bolton's B team.[8] He was released at the end of the 2022–23 season.[9]

Following a spell with Risborough Rangers, Sackey joined Southern League Premier Division South club Sholing on 18 November 2023.[10] He signed for Southern League Division One Central side Berkhamsted on 5 January 2024,[11] before later featuring for Holyport and Binfield. In July 2025, he joined Combined Counties Premier Division South side Knaphill.[12]

On 24 July 2026, after a spell with Wessex League side Yateley United, Sackey joined Bracknell Town, reuniting with manager Adam Hopkins, who had also made the move from Yateley United to Bracknell Town.[13]

International career

Born in England, Sackey is of Ghanaian descent.[5] He has been involved in training camps for England youth sides.[14]
