Born in Dhaka in 1956, Akhand started learning to play piano, accordion, harmonica and Spanish guitar under the tutelage of his father, at the age of five.... After the Liberation War, Akhand returned to Bangladesh and joined Bangladesh Radio as a music composer, singer and musician.
