Jordan Gonzalez (born May 8, 1999) is an American actor. He is known for his role as Ash Romero in the teen drama series Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin and its sequel Summer School.[1] He also stars as Richard Harkness in the dystopian thriller film The Long Walk.[2]
Early life
[edit]Gonzalez was born on May 8, 1999, in Roswell, Georgia.[3] He spent his childhood in a rural area of the state. He eventually decided to move to Los Angeles. His goal was to build a career in the entertainment industry. Before he started acting professionally, he originally pursued a path in the fashion world.[4]
Career
[edit]His on-screen career began with small media appearances. This early work included a feature in the music video for "I Found a Girl" by the British band The Vamps.[3] He later made his official television debut. He booked a recurring guest role as Hugo in the drama series The L Word: Generation Q.[5]
In 2022, Gonzalez gained mainstream recognition when he joined the cast of Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin. He played Ash Romero. His character was a transgender high school student.[1] The role brought him significant attention from viewers and critics alike. Many praised the character for providing grounded and positive transmasculine representation on television. He returned as a main cast member for the show's second season.[1]
Following his television success, Gonzalez transitioned into major feature films. He was cast as Richard Harkness in the 2025 film adaptation of the Stephen King novel The Long Walk.[2] His character is also known as Number 49. To prepare for the intense dystopian role, Gonzalez spent hours walking day and night. He journaled in character to fully understand the physical and emotional toll of the story.[2]

[edit]Gonzalez is a transgender man. He is a vocal advocate for transgender rights and visibility in the entertainment industry.[5] He frequently speaks about the importance of casting trans actors in complex and supportive roles.
He is in a relationship with actress Malia Pyles.[1] They met as castmates on the set of the Pretty Little Liars series.
