Jagodzin [jaˈɡɔd͡ʑin] (German: Neuhammer, Upper Sorbian: Beeren) is a village in the Lower Silesian Forest, located in the administrative district of Gmina Węgliniec, within Zgorzelec County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland.[1]

History

The village was founded in the 15th century, originally as a mining settlement, owned by the Penzig family.[2] In April 1945, Jagodzin served as a base of the Second Polish Army under the command of General Karol Świerczewski.
