[edit]In accordance with the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use, I disclose that I am the Chief Legal Officer of the J. Cleo Thompson Family Office and have prepared this draft as part of that engagement.
I have not edited and will not edit this article directly in mainspace. I am submitting it through Articles for Creation so an uninvolved reviewer can assess the draft, and after publication I will use this talk page and the {{edit COI}} request template to propose any further changes for review by uninvolved editors.
The draft was prepared from independent secondary sources (Texas Monthly, Forbes, Permian Basin Oil and Gas Magazine, The Texas Lawbook, the Permian Basin Petroleum Museum, The Dallas Morning News, and Texas appellate court records). Family-office press releases and the J. Cleo Thompson Family Office and Double T Family Foundation websites have been deliberately excluded as non-independent sources.

Two footnotes use {{cite press release}}; they are retained only for uncontested procedural facts (award and induction dates) and are paired with independent coverage where available. Notability is asserted on: (a) 1994 Texas Discoverer designation by the Railroad Commission of Texas, (b) 2017 induction into the Permian Basin Petroleum Hall of Fame, and (c) sustained multi-decade coverage in independent regional press.
