Disclosure: I am the subject of this draft and am submitting through AfC rather than publishing directly, per WP:COI and WP:AUTOBIO.
Sourcing, so the reviewer doesn't have to reconstruct it:
- The lead claim ("first to apply BFT consensus to proof of stake") is not my characterisation. It is a verbatim quotation from Buterin & Griffith, "Casper the Friendly Finality Gadget" (arXiv:1710.09437, 2017), the paper specifying Ethereum's own proof-of-stake mechanism, i.e. an independent and competing project crediting priority. The quote is reproduced in the citation's |quote= field so it can be checked without opening the PDF.
- Priority is stated by that source; the article does not assemble a timeline of other protocols to imply it (WP:SYNTH avoided deliberately).
- Cornell and the 2014 start of Cosmos work: Decrypt, 19 Apr 2019 (Hamacher).
- The graduation year and the Yelp role are cited to my own site (jaekwon.com/about/), relied on only under WP:BLPSELFPUB for uncontroversial biographical detail. It is not used for notability or for the priority claim.
- Company history and 2020 departure: CoinDesk, 4 Feb 2020 and 25 May 2022.
- Formal treatment: Buchman, Kwon & Milosevic (arXiv:1807.04938, 2018) and an independent model-checking paper (FMBC 2020, Dagstuhl OASIcs).
- The Sept 2026 press release is cited only for dates and figures about the company's own product, attributed in-text ("According to the company"), and marked as a press release. It is not offered for notability or for any contested claim. The apnews.com URL is EIN Presswire syndication, not AP reporting; it is given as a convenience mirror only.
The 2014 date is also verifiable from the public git history of github.com/tendermint/tendermint (repository created 2014-05-14; the subject's first commit 2014-05-20). Not cited in the article as it is a primary source, but noted here for verification.
