Note: This draft uses only claims I could source to something citable (the company's own website, which is acceptable under WP:SELFSOURCE for basic, non-controversial facts, plus the one independent piece I found). Anything from vaiu.ai is marked "According to the company" so it reads as attributed, not asserted. Swap in real press coverage as it appears — the article's survival depends on that.

[edit]According to the company, many organizations that pilot AI agents do not bring them into production, citing the engineering effort of integrating a model with memory, tools, and monitoring, reluctance among regulated institutions to send data to third-party foundation models, and factual errors (hallucinations) that persist after a pilot stage.[1] The company positions its product as addressing these issues by fine-tuning a model on a client's own data within that client's infrastructure, rather than relying solely on prompting a third-party model.[1]
Approach
[edit]According to the company, Vaiu builds domain-specific small language models (SLMs) fine-tuned on client data, which it refers to as "AI employees" purpose-built for individual industries.[1] Fine-tuning is reported to use QLoRA, a parameter-efficient fine-tuning method, which the company says allows a model to be adapted to a new domain using a comparatively small amount of client data.[1]
The company states that its platform is organized around five components: a fine-tuned language model ("Brain"), a memory layer combining a vector database and knowledge graph, a library of prebuilt tool integrations, a skills library, and an internal system it calls the "Adaptive Fine-Tuning Harness." The company describes this system as coordinating ongoing updates across the model, memory, and tool/skill usage as the system is used in production, rather than updating the model's weights in isolation.[1] Vaiu states that fine-tuning occurs on an encrypted layer and that the resulting knowledge graph remains with the client if the underlying model is changed.[1]
Vaiu offers deployment as a cloud, virtual private cloud (VPC), or on-premises installation.[1] The company markets separate product lines for government and utilities, healthcare, and financial services.[1]
