Team Boxing League (TBL) is an American pro boxing league where twelve city-based teams go head-to-head on a weekly basis, with fighters facing off in individual rounds that add up to a cumulative team score.[1][2]
History
[edit]Kevin Cassidy founded the league in 2022 as Team Combat League.[3] The first season ran in 2023 with eight teams.[4] The league later rebranded as Team Boxing League and expanded to twelve teams for its fourth season, which began in March 2026.[5][6]
Manny Pacquiao Agreement
[edit]On February 4, 2026, TBL announced that eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao would join the league as an ambassador in 2026 and as part-owner of the new San Diego TJ's expansion franchise beginning in 2027.[7][8] Pacquiao is also expected to captain the team and compete as an active fighter.[9] The deal was finalized on April 14, 2026 as a nine-figure partnership between TBL and Pacquiao's promotions company, Manny Pacquiao Promotions.[10]
Format
[edit]A TBL match consists of 24 three-minute rounds. Fighters compete in one-round bouts across multiple weight classes, with both men and women on each team's roster.[11][12] Round wins are scored 10–9 by decision, 10–8 with a knockdown, and 10–7 with a stoppage or double knockdown; the team with the higher cumulative score wins.[13] The last eight rounds of each match are referred to as the "Money Rounds."[14]
Teams
[edit]TBL has twelve teams: the Atlanta Attack, Boston Butchers, Dallas Enforcers, Houston Hitmen, Las Vegas Hustle, LA Elite, Miami Assassins, Nashville Smash, NYC Attitude, Philadelphia Smoke, Phoenix Fury, and San Antonio Snipers.[15][16]
Media and broadcasting
[edit]TBL matches have aired on several networks. In 2025, the league's matches aired on Merit Street Media, the cable network founded by Phil McGraw, where Forbes reported it drew approximately 3.5 million viewers across its first five weeks, citing Nielsen data.[17] In March 2026, TBL added a Spanish-language broadcast partnership with EstrellaTV, owned by MediaCo Holding.[18] A month later, the league signed a media-rights agreement with MSG Networks to air the rest of its fourth-season fights.[19]
