Studio Ulster is a virtual production studio situated within the Belfast Harbour Studios Complex at Giant’s Park, Belfast. The studio was developed by Ulster University with Belfast Harbour and supported by Northern Ireland Screen. Studio Ulster is part funded through the Belfast Region City Deal.[1] The facility spans 75,000 square feet and features three virtual production stages, a motion capture stage [1] and 3D/4D scanning.[2] The studio formally opened on 19 June 2025.[1] The studio is led by CEO Declan Keeney.
Facilities
[edit]The studio has three in-camera visual effects stages. The flagship stage, VP1 features a Nant Studios Dynamic Volume System [3]. The mid-scale stage, VP2 has an integrated LED wall and ceiling and is used for car processing work. [3] The third stage, VP3, has an LED floor and ceiling, and is home to the CoSTAR Screen Lab, a research and development initiative led by Ulster University. [3]
