Skyler Howes (born 14 April 1992 ) is a Americain motorcycle racer, whose achievements include notable performances in the Dakar Rally and other international rally raid and enduro events.
Born in Riverside, California, Howes grew up racing in the North American desert circuits against future Dakar winner Ricky Brabec. After a successful domestic career, he made his Dakar Rally debut in 2019 as a privateer. After fighting through major setbacks, including selling his personal belongings to fund his racing and surviving a severe neck fracture in 2019, he broke into the top-tier factory ranks.[1]
Husqvarna Factory Career
[edit]In 2021, Howes signed with the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing team. He made his official FIM Cross-Country Rallies World Championship debut for the brand at the 2021 Rally Kazakhstan.[2] During this international debut, he secured his first major world-stage highlights by winning Stage 2 and Stage 4 of the event on his Husqvarna FR 450 Rally bike.[2] He later won the prestigious Rallye du Maroc overall for the brand in 2022.[1]
Skyler Howes finished on the podium with a third place finish in the 2023 Dakar Rally.[3][4]
Honda HRC Career
[edit]Since 2024, he has been part of the official Monster Energy Honda HRC team for three seasons, where he claimed his first individual Dakar stage victory on Stage 11 in 2026, riding the Honda CRF450 Rally.[5] [6][7]
After three seasons with the HRC squad it was announced that both parties are parting ways at the end of 2026 season.[8]
