Silk Towers is a mixed-use development project under construction in Batumi, Georgia. The project is being developed by Silk Development, a real estate development company of Silk Road Group, and is located on the Black Sea waterfront in the Old Batumi area, near the Ali and Nino monument.
The architectural concept of Silk Towers was developed by the Japanese architecture firm Kengo Kuma (KKAA). The project is being constructed by the Vietnamese construction company Coteccons.[1]
Development
[edit]Silk Towers is planned as a mixed-use complex consisting of four buildings. The project includes residential units, hotel facilities, commercial spaces, restaurants, recreational areas and other public infrastructure. The total investment has been reported at approximately US$1 billion.[2]
Construction of the complex is being carried out with engineering support from international partners, including geotechnical engineering company ZETAŞ.[3]
Location
[edit]Silk Towers is located in Old Batumi, on Georgia's Black Sea coast. The project forms part of the ongoing development of Batumi's waterfront area, which has become a major focus of tourism, residential and commercial investment.
Architecture
[edit]The architectural concept of Silk Towers was developed by Kengo Kuma & Associates, founded by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma. The project represents Kuma's first architectural project in Georgia.[4]
The design concept focuses on the relationship between architecture and the surrounding environment, incorporating natural materials and human-scale design principles. The complex combines residential, hospitality and commercial functions within a single development.
International presentation
[edit]Silk Towers was presented at MIPIM 2026, an international real estate exhibition held in Cannes, France. The project was presented in the Mixed-Use category and was nominated for the MIPIM Awards 2026.[5]
