Draft:RBH-1

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

RBH-1 (Runaway Black Hole 1) is a rogue supermassive black hole ejected into intergalactic space by a galaxy merger collision occurring in the Cosmic Owl galaxy pair. As it is plowing through the intracluster medium, its ram pressure bowshock is compressing the intergalactic gas in its wake into a linear stream of newly birth stars emerging behind it pointing to the galaxy where it was ejected. This stream is identified as galaxy RCP 28 (SMDG J0241411-082050). RBH-1's passage has caused the discovery of the first known example of this astrophysical phenomenon, as RCP 28. RBH-1 itself is the first known example of a runaway supermassive black hole.
