Pyredoodle
[edit]the pyredoodle is a large to extra large dog breed ranging from 85-100 pounds and between 20-32 inches tall. The pyredoodle is a cross between a Great Pyrenees and a standard poodle, but there are different variants of pyredoodle F1b and Mini pyredoodles.
History of the breed
[edit]The Great Pyrenees has its roots in the Pyrenees mountains on the border of Spain and France. The Great Pyrenees was bred to be a herding Dog used to deter wolves. [1]The Great Pyrenees was used as a livestock guardians some 1000s of years ago. They arrived in the mountain range due to owners migrating westward from Asia minor to the northwestern Pyrenees mountains. In 1933 the breed was officially recognized by the American Kennel Club . The poodle is regarded as one of the oldest dog breeds. The American Kennel Club stated in their article,[2]"The Poodle is one of the oldest breeds. Curly-coated dogs with clipped hindquarters appear in carvings on Roman tombs and Greek and Roman coins as early as 30 A.D."(Gewirtz). [3]The hybrid is believed to originate between 1980-2000s. The two breeds were hybridized because of the popularity of poodle mixes during the time. Pyredoodles are also hypoallergenic large dog breed.

[edit][4]The pyredoodle is a large Dog breed with males measuring in at 20-32 inches tall and weighing in at 85-100 pounds. Pyredoodles are known for being gentle, easy to train, stubborn, high energy, and highly intelligent. The pyredoodle is noted to be very good with children, and with other animals. The pyredoodle is highly intelligent due to the two breeds being hybridized. [5]The poodle is regarded as the 2nd smartest dog breed overall. The pyredoodle is a non shedding dog breed due to the poodle being hypoallergenic. The pyredoodle coat is curly or wavy and ranges from short to long in length. The pyredoodle, although calm, is a protective dog breed. Because of the pyrenees the breed is considered a protective dog but not to the point of It being classified as a guard dog.
