Prism PPM (formerly WorkOtter) is a developer of project portfolio management software for finance, healthcare, engineering, education [1], information technology, management consulting, computer software, and other industries. [2]
Companies that use the platform include National Institutes of Health, Intek Plastics, Primoris Services, York University (Toronto), and American Axle & Manufacturing. [3]
History
Prism PPM was founded in 1998 as VCS online by former Ernst & Young project management consultants Nick Matteucci and Jeff Pupillo. The company released the first version of VPMi Professional in 1998. [4]
The company was created to serve the project management office (PMO) and was designed around project management best practices. [5]
The company registered the name WorkOtter in Des Peres, Missouri and began operating under this name in 2015. [6]
WorkOtter rebranded as Prism PPM in 2024. CEO Caitlin Bowen called the transition “a reaffirmation of our promise to empower project management offices to risk less and realize more.” [7]
Prism PPM has received investments from Level Equity and Lock 8 Partners. [8]
Prism PPM was included on the Gartner Adaptive Project Management and Reporting Magic Quadrant in 2024 [9]
