Prince 85, also stylized "P85", is a music producer, songwriter, and electronic music artist whose identity and origins remain unknown[1]. Active since the 2000s, he primarily works in the fields of electronic music and hip hop.
Biography
[edit]2013 - Present - Composer, Writer, Producer for Various artists' projects
[edit]In 2013, Prince 85 produced a remix of Kavinsky's "Odd Look"[2], released on the EP of the same name alongside, among others, a version featuring The Weeknd. That same year, he served as an opening act on The Weeknd's European tour.
He subsequently contributed to several of the Canadian artist's projects. In 2016, he co-wrote and co-produced "Die for You", from the album Starboy. He was also credited as a songwriter and producer on "Until I Bleed Out"[3], released on After Hours in 2020, and as a producer on "Big Sleep"[4], from Hurry Up Tomorrow in 2025.[5].
Prince 85 has also been credited on numerous recordings by American artists, including "Used 2" by Lil Wayne[6], "Around Me" by Metro Boomin featuring Don Toliver, "We Don't Trust You" by Future and Metro Boomin, and "ATM" by Don Toliver[7]
In 2022, he reunited with Kavinsky to produce a remix of "Renegade", a track featuring Cautious Clay[8].
2025 - Present - Composer, Writer, Producer for own project
[edit]In 2025, Prince 85 released the EPs All of Us [9] and Electronic Talk. The former includes remixes by Lifelike and DaHeala, while the latter features, among others, remixes by Oliver & Surrender! and Ian Pooley.
On June 19, 2026, he released "Unbound", a collaborative single with American record producer Mike Dean.
Concerts
[edit]In 2026, Prince 85 joined the European leg of The Weeknd's After Hours til Dawn Tour as an opening act alongside Playboi Carti. He is scheduled to perform across all 42 dates of the European tour.
