Phil Whyman is a British paranormal investigator, television presenter and writer. He first appeared on television as an investigator in the Living TV series Scream Team and subsequently appeared in Most Haunted and Most Haunted Live.[1] He later co-presented the paranormal investigation series Are You Haunted..? alongside Sara Whyman. [2] His writing includes the book Dead Haunted: Paranormal Encounters and Investigations and the recurring Phil's World column for Chat It's Fate magazine. [3]

Television career

Whyman's television career began in 2002 when he appeared as an investigator in all ten episodes of Living TV's Scream Team.[4][5] The series followed a group of investigators as they travelled around Britain visiting locations associated with reported paranormal activity. His involvement in the programme preceded his later appearances on Most Haunted and Most Haunted Live. [6][7]

Following Scream Team, Whyman joined Most Haunted, appearing as a paranormal investigator and researcher during the programme's early years. He also took part in a number of Most Haunted Live broadcasts, which featured extended live investigations from reportedly haunted locations around the UK. [8]

Whyman later appeared alongside Sara Whyman in the paranormal investigation series Are You Haunted..?.[2] Sara Whyman said that the idea for the programme had been in her mind for several years before production began.[9] Sara Whyman headed the investigation team, while Phil Whyman was credited as director; Sara Whyman was also credited as producer.[10]

Whyman is the author of Phil Whyman's Dead Haunted: Paranormal Encounters and Investigations, published by New Holland in 2007.[11] Whyman also wrote Phil's World, a recurring column for Chat It's Fate magazine, covering paranormal investigations and experiences.[3] Whyman also contributed forewords to Jason Day's Haunted Grimsby[12] and Stuart Orme's Haunted Peterborough.[13]
