Neil Blumenthal is an American entrepreneur and the co-founder and co-chief executive officer of Warby Parker, a direct-to-consumer eyewear company.[1] Before founding Warby Parker, he served as director of VisionSpring.[2]
Early life and education
[edit]Blumenthal was born and raised in Greenwich Village, New York City.[3] He graduated from Tufts University with a Bachelor of Arts degree.[4] He earned a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.[5]
Career

[edit]Blumenthal began his career at VisionSpring, a nonprofit social enterprise that trains low-income individuals in developing countries to start businesses selling affordable eyeglasses.[6]
Warby Parker
[edit]In 2008, Blumenthal and three Wharton classmates — David Gilboa, Andrew Hunt, and Jeffrey Raider — began developing Warby Parker.[7] He launched Warby Parker in February 2010, with a focus on affordable prescription glasses and donating one pair for every pair sold.[8]
Blumenthal has served as co-chief executive officer alongside co-founder David Gilboa since the company's founding.[4] Under their leadership, Warby Parker expanded from an e-commerce operation into a retailer with 275 locations as of 2025.[9] Blumenthal worked with Google to launch smart glasses for the company.[10]
In September 2021, Blumenthal led Warby Parker's direct listing on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol WRBY.[11]
Personal life
[edit]Blumenthal is a native of New York City and resides in Greenwich Village. He is married to Rachel Leigh, founder of Cricket's Circle.[12][13]
