N10.AS (pronounced "antennas") is a non-profit, community-based, volunteer-run internet radio station broadcasting 24 hours a day from the top of Montréal nightclub Le Système.^[1]

N10.AS hosts over 130 shows of a variety of genres, from ambient to dub to post-punk to lifestyle talk shows.^[1]^[2] All shows are programmed by, and for, DJs and other music-minded creatives from Montréal and beyond. Their mandate is to "provid[e] a respectful and safe space that involves a diverse community of people" through offering "an online radio platform where one will be able to connect and contribute to the community at large."^[3]

The station is 100% volunteer-run and completely reliant on donations from community members for financial sustainability. It does not run advertisements or accept corporate sponsorships.^[4]

N10.AS is also known for its unique website design, resembling a Windows 95 webpage, which features a live chatroom where listeners can interact with one another.^[2]^[4]

History

Inspired by the UK-based community radio station NTS Radio, N10.AS was founded in 2016 by a team of cofounders including Arbutus Records founder Sebastian Cowan.^[5] The name N10.AS derives from a radio-related Alphanumeric code meaning "antennas". ^[5]
