Leon Mishnaevsky Jr. is Danish materials scientist, and professor of computational micromechanics of materials at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU).[1] He is also Privatdozent at the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany. He researches computational micromechanics, wind energy materials,[2][3] composites, and nanomaterials.
Career
[edit]He received his diploma in Civil Engineering in Kiev University of Civil Engineering, his PhD in Mining Institute at North, USSR, and his Habilitation in Mechanics from the Technische Universität Darmstadt.
He is organizer and chairman of annual international symposia on Leading Edge Erosion and Protection of Wind Turbine Blades (every February, since 2020,[4] and[5]) and biannual International Conference on Sustainable Wind Turbine Blades (since 2022)[6] in DTU Risø Campus, Roskilde, Denmark.
He lead several projects, studying erosion of wind turbine blades, and risks of microplastic emission due to the wind turbine erosion.[7][8][9]
He is an author of monographs "Computational Mesomechanics of Composites"[10] and "Micromechanics and Nano-simulation of Metals and Composites" (co-author with Siegfried Schmauder).[11]
He is CEO and owner of startup consultancy TechNtelligence.dk[12]
