Jack Masters (Born sometime in 1986) was a website curator for Castle ZZT and an independent comic writer for Poorly Planned Comics.
| Born | 1986 Wisconsin, United States |
| Died | 01 September 2015 Madison, Wisconsin, United States (Age 29.) |
| Cause of Death | Suicide |
| Relatives | Joan Masters (Mother) Patrick Masters (Brother) Gene Master (Father) |
Jack Masters was an American artist and engineer in the early days of the internet. He worked on various projects including Castle ZZT, The Synod, The Mile-Long Webzine and Poorly Planned Comics. Which many people found interesting and brilliant. Jack was mentioned on various forums for meditation and health under the pseudonym “Jareth Dekko” where he would later meet Daniel M. Ingram (as featured on his emails.)
As Jack grew a team around him, he invented more Poorly Planned Comics which would later have over 200 ‘Chapters’ before its abrupt ending. On Chapter 285 Jack writes both his will and suicide note along side snapshots of his emails and mental health slowly getting worse.
On September 1st, Jack Masters committed suicide by jumping off the 10th floor of the Madison Marriott West Hotel.
Inspirations
[edit]Jack Masters was inspired by sites like ZZT, The Vincent Watkins Puzzle Books and Homestuck by Andrew Hussie which Jack would later have one sided ties with.
Mental Health Decline Cause and Effects
[edit]-Jack Masters mental health declined around 2013-2014 when he abused LSD and Adderall. There was a video online that shows his LSD usage which got taken down due to the original site (Castle ZZT) being removed. -Jack had developed Schizophrenia and had an alternate personality named “SUZZZZY” which would later cause him to be fixated on the ideas of MRI scans and murder.
-Jack Masters started theories that Homestuck’s creator Andrew Hussie stole ideas from Vincent Watkins books and made profit off of it. Because of this, Jack would turn Poorly Planned Comics into an abstract attempt to solve what he believed was a narrative conspiracy involving Hussie.
-Jack later went to a convention called Geek.Kon which was held near the same place he committed suicide in. Various messages between him and a friend showed that he was fascinated with how tall the building was and how it would be an ideal place to commit suicide.
