Heads Up For Tails (HUFT) is an Indian pet care company headquartered in Gurugram, Haryana, India. Founded in 2008 by Rashi Narang, the company sells pet food, accessories, apparel, and grooming products through an omnichannel network of retail stores, spas, and an e-commerce platform, and also operates a non-profit animal welfare arm, the HUFT Foundation.
History - Heads Up For Tails was founded in 2008 by Rashi Narang, a former human resources professional at Citigroup, after she struggled to find well-designed products for her Labrador, Sara. Narang began by designing pet beds and accessories from a spare room in her home in Delhi, initially selling at fairs and exhibitions before opening an e-commerce site and a retail kiosk at Select Citywalk mall in New Delhi.
In 2016, HUFT merged with Bengaluru-based pet store chain Paws, The Pet Store, bringing on Sandeep Atmaram and Ridhima Coelho as co-founders. The company subsequently raised capital from high-net-worth individual investors before securing larger institutional rounds.
In 2021, HUFT raised a Series A round of about $37 million led by Verlinvest and Sequoia Capital (now Peak XV Partners). The company went on to raise further funding, including a Series B round reported in late 2024/2025 with participation from investors such as Apparel Group.
As of 2026, HUFT operates more than 100 retail stores and spas across Indian cities, alongside its online marketplace.
Products and services - HUFT sells a range of pet-care products, including food, treats, collars, leashes, harnesses, bowls, clothing, grooming kits, and furniture for dogs and cats, as well as items for small animals and birds. The company has developed several in-house product lines, including "Sara's Treats," a line of preservative-free pet treats named after founder Rashi Narang's dog. In recent years the company has shifted toward domestic manufacturing of a larger share of its product range.
In addition to retail stores, HUFT operates grooming spas and pet-friendly store formats, and has stated a strategic focus on premium pet food and omnichannel expansion.
HUFT Foundation - The HUFT Foundation is the company's non-profit animal welfare initiative, established in 2019. It works with animal welfare NGOs and independent caregivers on programs such as street-animal feeding drives, sterilisation and adoption drives, and the distribution of reflective collars and water bowls for community animals.
Corporate affairs - The company's legal name is Precious Pet Services Pvt. Ltd. Investors have included Verlinvest, Peak XV Partners (formerly Sequoia Capital India), Amitell Capital, and Wipro Consumer Care Ventures.
