HOF Capital is an American investment firm based in New York City. Its activities include venture capital, growth equity and private equity, with investments in technology companies and other industries.[2][3] Founded by Hisham Elhaddad, Onsi Sawiris and Fady Yacoub, the firm has invested in companies including Anthropic, SpaceX, OpenAI and Neuralink.[4] In 2026, it led a consortium that acquired Porsche's interests in Rimac Group and Bugatti Rimac.[5][6]

History

[edit]

HOF Capital was founded in 2016 by Elhaddad, Sawiris and Yacoub.[7][8] Its investment strategy included artificial-intelligence software, financial technology, genetics and computational biology.[7]

In May 2022, the firm raised US$300 million for an early-stage investment fund targeting companies from the pre-seed stage through Series A. At the time, HOF had more than US$1 billion in assets under management and approximately 240 limited partners across 37 countries.[8]

The firm subsequently expanded its private-equity activities, including the acquisition of Porsche's holdings in Rimac Group and Bugatti Rimac in 2026.[3] In September 2026, HOF reported approximately US$15 billion in assets under management.[2]

Investments

[edit]

Technology investments

[edit]

HOF's investment areas have included artificial intelligence, enterprise software, financial technology, computational biology, blockchain and immersive computing.[8] Its technology investments have included Anthropic, SpaceX, OpenAI and Neuralink.[4]

In 2024, Jamba Europe, an investment vehicle controlled by HOF, sought to increase its holding in Revolut by purchasing shares through the Republic Europe private trading platform. An initial offer was cancelled in October after the Financial Conduct Authority raised concerns about whether the communication constituted a financial promotion requiring regulatory approval.[9] A revised offer was subsequently circulated,[10] but in November Republic reported that Revolut had blocked the proposed share transfers.[11]

Rimac Group and Bugatti Rimac

[edit]

HOF participated in Rimac Group's €500 million Series D financing in 2022.[12]

In April 2026, a consortium led by HOF agreed to acquire Porsche's 45% interest in Bugatti Rimac and its 20.6% interest in Rimac Group.[5] The transaction was completed on September 9, 2026, for approximately €1 billion.[6]

Following the acquisition, HOF's holding in Rimac Group increased to 23.5%, making it the group's largest shareholder. Rimac Group retained its 55% controlling interest in Bugatti Rimac. Within the consortium's separately acquired 45% interest in Bugatti Rimac, BlueFive Capital held 30%, while HOF and the other investors collectively held 15%.[2][12]

Elhaddad joined the supervisory boards of both Rimac Group and Bugatti Rimac, while HOF partner Josh Klaczek joined Rimac Group's supervisory board.[12]
