Frédéric North (born May 10, 1961) a French-American motion picture stunt helicopter pilot and aerial co-ordinator.[1][2][3][4][5] He is a World Record holder for piloting an AS350B2 helicopter to a height of 42,500 ft in South Africa since 2002.[6][7][8][2][9][10][11][12][13] He has worked in Fast and Furious and Transformers franchises,[10] San Andreas, Spectre, and Mission Impossible-Rogue Nation.[10][7]

Personal Life

North was born to French parents Ernest and Monique North Africa and moved to Europe at 19.[9][7] He obtained his commercial pilot certificate in France at the age of 24.[9][7][11]

Career

In 1989, North became a camera helicopter pilot flying for desert rally car races.[14][15][13] During 1990-1994, he served as chief helicopter pilot for Paris-Dakar and Paris-Moscow-Beijing rallies.[11][16]

In 1996, he was recruited for his first motion picture shoot in Venezuela.[7][11] His film credits include Armageddon, Gladiator, Borne Identity, Da Vinci Code, The Incredible Hulk, Tropic Thunder, Inception, and Fast and Furious series (including Hobbs and Shaw)[1][6][16] Total Recall, Mission Impossible, Point Break, Captain America: Winter Soldier, Transformers series, Pacific Rim,[6] Wolverine, Bad Boys for Life,[2][1], and Guardians of the Galaxy.[16]

North performed stunts for Extraction 2, Fall guy, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, and Beverly Hills City Hall.[17] He worked with Roland Emmerich and Michael Bay (Pearl Harbor and Armageddon).[7][2]
