Erin Egnatz is an American author, historian, podcast host, and paranormal investigator. She is the founder of Phantom Publishing and the creator of the multi-platform brand Hauntings Around America[1]. Egnatz writes fiction under the pen name E. Nevius (sometimes credited as Eliza Nevius). She is also the host of Plot Twist Radio.

Early life and education

Egnatz was raised in Northwest Indiana.[2] She initially began her professional career working in the healthcare industry, including roles in hospice care.

Egnatz serves as an adjunct history professor. In addition to lecturing, she works as a media producer and coordinator, hosting the creative interview program Plot Twist Radio.

Media and Podcasts

Egnatz is the creator, host, and producer of Plot Twist Radio, an entertainment and interview podcast launched in 2025. The program focuses on narrative-driven conversations with authors, artists, and entrepreneurs detailing major transitional moments in their careers. Following its Season 2 launch in 2026, the podcast reached the Top 10 on the Apple Podcast charts and crossed 100,000 weekly listens.[3] Notable guests on the show have included director David Zucker, actor Nicholas Brendon, World Series champion Geoff Blum, Academy Award-winning songwriter Franke Previte, and Five for Fighting singer John Ondrasik.[3]

Her broader media work combining history and regional folklore has led to appearances on The History Channel, Newsweek, Scary Mommy, Coast to Coast AM, and regional television programs including Fox Chicago, The Morning Blend, and NBC Seattle.[4][5][6][7][8][9]

Writing and Publishing

As a non-fiction writer, Egnatz has published three books documenting regional ghosts and historical folklore through her *Hauntings Around America* platform[4]. Under the pen name E. Nevius, she writes supernatural mystery and fantasy romance fiction, including the novel *The Jaded Knight," "The Key To Wonderland," and "The Dud Witch." She also has released the romantic comedy "Professionally Unprofessional."

In 2025, she founded **Phantom Publishing LLC**[2], an independent publishing house designed to assist independent authors with creative control and distribution.[10]

Personal life

Egnatz is married and has three children. She resides with her family in the Northwest Indiana and greater Chicago area.[10]
