City Rebels Predictions (also known as CRSPredictions) is a Nigerian sports analytics and forecasting firm founded in July 2022 by Olamiji Osifeso Itunu. Based in Lagos, the firm applies mathematical models, statistical analysis, and data science to sports forecasting. Its research has been cited in Nigerian media coverage of African football, including post-tournament analyses of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Background
[edit]City Rebels Predictions was founded in Lagos, Nigeria, in July 2022 by Olamiji Osifeso, a graduate of Computer and Mathematical Sciences.[1] The platform went live in 2023, offering statistical analysis of football matches to Nigerian sports audiences.[2]
Before establishing the firm, Osifeso managed automobile imports and fashion retail operations in Lagos's Mandilas Market.[3] The platform is managed by Bankole Ifedayo Oluwatamilore.
Analytical work
[edit]City Rebels Predictions produces match analyses, statistical breakdowns, and trend reports covering major football competitions, with a focus on African football.[4]
Following the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, the firm published a post-tournament review examining competitive trends across the tournament. Vanguard reported on the findings, noting that the firm's analysis showed AFCON had undergone a significant competitive transformation, with data indicating the tournament had become one of the more unpredictable football competitions globally.[5] The analysis attributed this to improvements in coaching education, player development structures, and tactical organisation across African football federations.[6]
A separate post-tournament review published by Independent Newspaper Nigeria drew on the firm's research to examine AFCON's economic impact. The report noted that CRS Predictions had identified the tournament as a structural component of the continent's football economy, with influence across player markets, sponsorship flows, and media value chains.[7]
The firm has stated that its platform does not promote gambling, and positions its output as analysis rather than speculative prediction.[8]
Recognition
[edit]In January 2026, City Rebels Predictions received the 2025 Corporate Impact Through Sports Award at the Social Impact and Sustainability Awards (SISA), an award recognising corporate contribution to sports development in Nigeria.[9][10]
