Comment: Well done on creating the draft, and it may potentially meet the relevant requirements (including WP:ANYBIO, WP:AUTHOR) but presently it is not clear that it does. As you may know, Wikipedia's basic requirement for entry is that the subject is notable. Essentially subjects are presumed notable if they have received significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject. To properly create such a draft page, please see the articles ‘Your First Article’, ‘Referencing for Beginners’ and ‘Easier Referencing for Beginners’. In short, "notability" requires reliable sources about the subject, rather than by the subject.Thank you for declaring your conflict of interest. Please note that if you have not already done so, you must also declare your COI on your Talk page (to see instructions on how to do this please see WP:COI and/or WP:PAID). Given the conflict, the review of the page needs to be handled with care, mindful of the higher bar set by pages produced in circumstances of conflict of interest. Such pages typically may read too much like a promotional CV or advertorial (see WP:PROMO), which Wikipedia is not; and/or contain prose that is not of a standard appropriate for an encyclopaedia (also see WP:PEACOCK and WP:NPV). Please familiarise yourself with these pages before amending the draft. If you feel you can meet these requirements, then please make the necessary amendments before resubmitting the page.It would help our volunteer reviewers by identifying, on the draft's talk page, the WP:THREE best sources that establish notability of the subject. It would also be helpful if you could please identify with specificity, exactly which criteria you believe the page meets (eg "I think the page now meets WP:ANYBIO criteria #3, because XXXXX"). Once you have implemented these suggestions, you may also wish to leave a note for me on my talk page, including the name of the draft page, and I would be happy to reassess. As I said, I do think this draft has potential so please do persevere. Cabrils (talk) 01:13, 17 June 2026 (UTC)

[edit]Manly was raised in Santa Rosa, California. She was the ninth of twelve children, which she states influenced her interest in human connection. She attended Ursuline High School in Santa Rosa. In 1984, Manly received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of San Diego, and in 1987, she graduated with a Master of Arts in Counseling from Sonoma State University. In 2010, Manly earned a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. She concentrated on depth psychology with a specialization in Jungian therapy.[1]
Career

Manly maintains a private practice in Santa Rosa, California. Her clinical approach involves traditional psychotherapy with somatic and mindfulness-based stress reduction techniques.[2][3]
Authorship
[edit]Manly authored books focusing on psychological well-being and emotional intelligence. In 2019, she published Joy from Fear, which discusses "transformational fear" as a tool for personal growth. This was followed by Aging Joyfully (2019),[4] which addresses the mental and emotional well-being of women over fifty.[5] Reviewing Aging Joyfully for Foreword Reviews, Kristine Morris found the book warm, practical, and humorous, noting that it encourages women to regard their later years as a period full of possibility rather than decline.[6] In 2021, Manly published a book titled Date Smart: Transform Your Relationships and Love Fearlessly, a guide to navigating modern dating.[7]
In 2024, she released The Joy of Imperfect Love, which explores attachment theory and the importance of accepting imperfections in healthy relationships.[1] The book was reviewed by Midwest Book Review, which described it as reader-friendly and recommended it for library self-help collections.[8] Her work has been cited in books, including Bridget Shirvell's Parenting in a Climate Crisis (2025)[9] and the breast cancer guide Getting Things Off My Chest (2013).[10] Manly has also been quoted in media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal,[11] The New York Times,[12][13] Newsweek[14] and Washington Post.[15]
Podcasting
[edit]Manly started the Imperfect Love podcast in 2023. She discusses topics related to emotional health, relationships, and self-esteem.[16]
