Blockskye is an American corporate travel management company based in Boston, Massachusetts. The company uses blockchain technology to record the booking, payment and settlement of business travel, and operates as a travel management company for corporate clients.[1][2]
History
[edit]Blockskye was founded in 2017 by Brook Armstrong and Michael Share.[2][3] The company operated with little public visibility during its early years.[1] In 2019 it took part in a proof-of-concept project with Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) and United Airlines that tested the use of a private blockchain to report and settle airline tickets.[4][5] The same year, ARC made what trade press described as its first venture-capital investment in a travel blockchain developer when it backed Blockskye.[6]
Blockskye later developed a corporate booking and payment product in partnership with the travel search company Kayak.[7] PwC was reported as the first major client to adopt the product.[8][2] Coverage in Business Travel News described the company pursuing a deliberately selective growth strategy, citing clients including PwC, Diageo and Tripadvisor.[2] In February 2025 Business Travel News reported that Deloitte had signed with Blockskye for its United States travel program, displacing incumbent provider BCD Travel from that portion of the program.[9] The Massachusetts Institute of Technology also designated Blockskye as its travel management company.[10]
Products and technology
[edit]Blockskye operates a corporate travel platform that combines booking, payment and expense management, and records transactions on distributed-ledger technology intended to give the buyer, travel suppliers and the traveller a shared record of each booking.[1][6] The platform draws airline content from direct connections, the New Distribution Capability standard, global distribution systems and aggregators.[2] Named products include B360, BMAX and a payment product, Blockskye Pay.[11] In 2025 the company added an expense-tracking and reimbursement feature that incorporates artificial intelligence.[12] Blockskye and United Airlines have also offered a co-branded payment card for managed corporate travel.[13]
Funding
[edit]In July 2025 Blockskye said it had raised US$15.8 million, bringing total funding to about US$33 million.[11][14] The round was led by the venture firm Blockchange, with participation from United Airlines Ventures and other investors.[11][14]
