Ahmer Inam
[edit]Ahmer Inam is a technology executive and entrepreneur. He is the founder and chief executive officer of Cognisee, an artificial-intelligence company.[1] He has held senior data and analytics positions at companies including Nike, Wells Fargo, and Relanto.[2] In 2025, he received a Global Visioneering Award from the XPRIZE Foundation.[3]
Early life and education
[edit]Inam grew up in Delhi, India. He earned a Bachelor of Technology degree in mechanical engineering from Jamia Millia Islamia in New Delhi and subsequently earned master's degrees in industrial engineering and economics from Texas A&M University.[4]
Career
[edit]Inam began his career in analytics and data science in the United States. He held positions at Texas A&M University and National Instruments before joining Wells Fargo. He subsequently held analytics positions at Quaero and Sonic Automotive and worked in analytics advisory at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). He later held a senior data analytics position at Nike.[5]
Inam later served as chief artificial intelligence officer at Pactera Edge. In 2020, Fortune reported on his work at the company and his views on the development and use of artificial intelligence. Inam discussed the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on artificial-intelligence models and the challenges organizations faced when deploying AI systems.[6]
In September 2020, Fortune published a further article examining Inam's views on what he called "Mindful A.I.", an approach that emphasized intentionality and consideration of the effects of AI systems on people. The article discussed his views on why AI projects fail and the role of trust, explainability, bias, and human considerations in AI development.[7]
In March 2022, Relanto announced Inam's appointment as chief data and artificial intelligence officer.[8] In 2023 and 2024, the Los Angeles Times identified Inam as Relanto's chief data and artificial intelligence officer in coverage of its C-Suite events.[9][10]
Cognisee
[edit]Inam founded Cognisee, where he serves as chief executive officer.[11] In 2026, Forbes reported on Cognisee's development of "Wisdom Vaults", which the company describes as systems for preserving indigenous knowledge, medicinal knowledge, and other forms of expertise.[12]
Recognition
[edit]Inam received a Global Visioneering Award from the XPRIZE Foundation in 2025.[13]
