Chase Fernandez (born 2 February 2009)[1] is a British racing driver who is set to compete in the GB4 Winter Series for R Racing.[2] Fernandez previously competed in the 2025 F4 British Championship with Xcel Motorsport.

Career

[edit]

Car racing debut (2022–2023)

[edit]

Fernandez made his car racing debut in the Ginetta Junior Winter Series, driving for Assetto Motorsport. He then competed in the 2023 Ginetta Junior Championship via a scholarship, competing for Assetto Motorsport once more.[3] He won 4 races, being twice at Silverstone, Cadwell Park and Donington Park. With his results, Fernandez placed 6th in the standings, and 5th in the rookie standings. He would stay in the championship for 2024, competing for E3 Sport for the opening 2 events, before switching to R Racing for the rest of the year.

Single-seater transition (2024–2025)

[edit]

During the off-season in early 2024, Fernandez joined X GP for his inaugural single-seater series, being the Formula Trophy UAE.[4] Fernandez competed in the final 2 rounds of the 2024 F4 Spanish Championship for Rodin Motorsport.

For 2025, Fernandez shifted his full focus to single-seater racing, competing in the F4 British Championship for Xcel Motorsport.[5] Alongside this, he also competed in the season opener of the Formula 4 CEZ Championship for AS Motorsport.[6] A part-time campaign in the USF Juniors also arose for Fernandez, competing with the Jay Howard Driver Development team. He also had a one-off appearance for Team Bleekemolen in the NASCAR Euro Series.

Move to Mini racing (2026)

[edit]

For 2026, Fernandez won the Jamsport Scholarship, granting him a full season in the Mini Challenge UK for the team.[7] However, Fernandez later made way for a returning Henry Howarth, after only one weekend.

After a brief half-year away from racing, Fernandez joined the newly formed GB4 Winter Series, competing with former Ginetta Junior Championship team R Racing.[8]
