Arran Ashan and Mustafa 'Musti' Mohamoud, known collectively as Burnermunde, are a London-based filmmaking duo. They are known for their surreal, absurd and satirical comedic themes and distinct editing style[1], which reflects a more social realist view of contemporary London.[2]
Ashan and Mohamoud first became aware of each other through Instagram, and met up in order to collaborate on a music video. From there, they bonded over shared subcultures, artistic vision, inspirations, such as Chris Morris and Sean Baker, and love of cinema[3]. After individually directing a string of music videos for musicians they were acquainted with including the likes of Sainté[4] and Jim Legxacy[5], both Ashan and Mohamoud became frustrated with commercial work and decide to collaborate on creating their own films.[1]
In May 2026[6], Burnermunde were commissioned to direct an advertisement for the Nike/Palace Skateboards collaboration, featuring English footballer Wayne Rooney[2]. They also directed the opening credits for Saturday Night Live UK in the same year.[1]
