Alya Manasa (born 27 May 1992)[1] is an Indian actress works in Tamil television. One of the highest-paid television actresses in India,[2] she is best known for her role as Sembaruthi on Star Vijay's soap opera Raja Rani.[3][4][5]
Alya is also known for her roles in the television shows Iniya, Senthoora Poove and Parijatham.
Career
[edit]Alya started her career in 2017 with Star Vijay's drama series Raja Rani, where she played the lead of role of the character Semba.[6] She received acclaimed praise from audiences for her performance and became an overnight sensation in the television industry. The same year she made her film debut with the comedy drama film Julieum 4 Perum in which she played a lead role.[7]
In 2020, she acted in the serial Senthoora Poove as a supporting actress and also appeared in Bharathi Kannamma which both aired on Star Vijay. She was also re cast as the lead role for the second season of Raja Rani alongside Sidhu Sid.[3][4][5] However after a few episodes she was replaced with actress Riya Vishwanathan.[8] In 2022, she was cast as the lead actress for the series Iniya alongside Rishi which aired on Sun TV.[9] In 2025, she was once again cast as the lead role for the serial Parijatham which also aired on Sun TV.[10][11]
Besides acting, Alya has appeared in several reality shows as a judge and guest appearance. In 2025, she appeared as a judge on the reality show Single Pasanga which aired on Zee Tamil.[12][13] In 2026, she made her guest appearance during the finale in the student-dare reality show Killadi Jodis.
Personal life
[edit]Born to Tamil parents, Alya was born and brought up in Chennai. In 2019, Alya married Sanjeev Karthick, her co-star in Raja Rani, and have children Aila Syed[14] and Arsh Syed.[15][16][17]
