It's the sixth time this chatbot tops this list, tying with the Ebola virus and standing behind only a goddamned pandemic and a goddamned politician as the articles with the most #1 appearances. And it's not a case like YouTube getting more pageviews out of nowhere, ChatGPT is popular and on the news and thus the traffic is valid. But the specific reason for the views boost is unclear. Is it the new Record mode for meetings? An outage of hours the same day? Is it the bot cheating to not be turned off? The arrival of competitor Claude 4?
2	Jonathan Joss		1,468,640		In one of the most bizarre yet sad events of the year, this Native American actor was shot and killed on June 1. In January, Joss, best known for voicing the King of the Hill character John Redcorn, lost his San Antonio home in a fire for reasons unknown. This week, he and his husband returned to collect the mail and survey the damage, when Joss and a neighbor resumed a year-long feud, resulting in the neighbor shooting and killing Joss. His husband called the feud a homophobic hate crime, despite the SAPD refusing to acknowledge it as such.
3	List of Indian Premier League seasons and results		976,066		India's top cricket league was formed in 2008, and the 2025 edition came down to two teams seeking their first title, ultimately ending with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru beating the Punjab Kings. The tournament's biggest winner Chennai Super Kings (5 championships in 18 editions) ended this year's edition in last place!

7	Ballerina (2025 film)		783,968		Technically the full name is From the World of John Wick: Ballerina, showing this is set in a world where seemingly every corner has someone involved with an assassin society. Ana de Armas already showed she could beat up men as a Bond girl in No Time to Die, and now gets a whole movie of her slaughtering males (and even a few females) as an orphan raised to be both a ballerina and a contract killer. Having a winning formula of this popular leading lady, stylized violence, and avoiding the meandering plot that made John Wick: Chapter 4 overlong, Ballerina got positive reviews and opened to $50 million worldwide, not enough to overcome the family-friendly blockbuster currently dominating theaters (#12) but covering half the movie's budget.
8	Aryna Sabalenka		762,304		Back to Stade Roland Garros, the current tennis #1 who plays for no flag due to her country's involvement in a terrible thing that doesn't end, and for the second time this year reached a Grand Slam final only to be defeated by an American (#6). Sabalenka certainly hopes this won't happen a third time at Wimbledon.
9	Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning		747,317		Ethan Hunt, a secret agent whose pechant for jumping, hanging, diving, and driving dangerously borders on a death wish, finishes off his fight against a rogue artificial intelligence that started in 2023's Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning and in a way revisits all the eight installments of the franchise. While Tom Cruise beat Lilo & Stitch with Minority Report this time he's lagging behind the remake (#12), but still with great earnings of over $450 million!
10	Dept. Q		745,056		On May 29, this Scottish crime thriller series, based on the books by Jussi Adler-Olsen (pictured), was released on Netflix. The series stars Matthew Goode as a detective investigating a cold case.
11	Thug Life (2025 film)		685,892		From Kollywood comes this gangster action drama reuniting director Mani Ratnam and actor Kamal Haasan after nearly 40 years, earning negative reviews and low box office compared to an elevated budget.
12	Lilo & Stitch (2025 film)		657,866		Disney remade their cartoon about a destructive alien who becomes the pet and companion of a Hawaiian orphan, and the result is making all the money possible, nearing $650 million after two weeks and having the strong possibility of overcoming A Minecraft Movie as Hollywood's biggest movie so far. And next week it gets the competition of another live-action remake of an animation, How to Train Your Dragon.
13	Luis Enrique		645,853		On May 31, Enrique led Paris Saint-Germain into the UEFA Champions final, where they defeated Inter Milan, 5–0, to claim their first title and first continental treble for a French team (Enrique's second).
14	2025 Polish presidential election		636,737		The second round of this election was held on June 1. It was won narrowly by Karol Nawrocki, an independent who ran on a conservative platform and was backed by Law and Justice, the same party as the outgoing president Andrzej Duda. Nawrocki's victory spells trouble for the government of prime minister Donald Tusk, who now require 60% or more of the vote from the Sejm to pass legislation in case of a presidential veto.

17	Money in the Bank (2025)		541,301		In this month's professional wrestling pay-per-view broadcast on Netflix, WWE wrestlers competed mainly in ladder matches for their respective briefcases that contain contracts for future championship matches of their choice within a year's time. At this particular event, Naomi won the women's match, and Seth Rollins (pictured) won the men's. It will be interesting to see if Rollins "cashes it in" to take the title from John Cena, who is set to retire at the end of the year.

In the meantime, the FBI has stated that security footage of his cell will be released to put Epstein didn't kill himself to rest once and for all.

At just 22, Boisson entered the main draw as a wild card and set many distinctions, such as the first French woman to be a semifinalist at the country's Grand Slam since 2011, the first woman to reach the semifinals at her first major since 1990, the lowest-ranked quarterfinalist and semifinalist at Roland Garros in the last 40 years, and the lowest quarterfinalist at any Grand Slam event since 2017. Even if it ended at the semifinal, Boisson's run was enough to boost her from No. 361 to 65 at the WTA rankings!
