- Resource link and title: The Language of Psychoanalysis by Jean Laplanche and Jean-Bertrand Pontalis, available at, e.g.,
- Link to request on RX: N/A
Many of the items in Category:Psychoanalytic terminology, Category:Freudian psychology, and other subcats of Category:Psychoanalytic theory would benefit from expansion with this reference text, particularly those that are little more than a bare definition. Anticathexis would benefit, and sections of cathexis relating to hypercathexis would, too. New articles like urethral erotism/urinary erotism can get started with it.
These are just examples. I want to go through the book and use it to expand various articles. One of the problems with these subcats is that they generally represent a fairly small contingent of psychoanalytic theory (or are nothing more than references to Freud). Though the book comes from a particular French psychoanalytic academic environment, it is still useful at tracing these concepts and their intellectual evolution. A print book I can mark up (I write lots of marginal notes) would be useful. Urve (talk) 05:58, 30 September 2026 (UTC)

- Festschrift of sorts for Kazuo Ueda (linguist): Select articles from the "Commemorative Issue for the Retirement of Professor Kengo Tachibana and Professor Kazuo Ueda". Fukuoka University review of literature & humanities (in Japanese). 43 (4). National Diet Library. March 2012. Retrieved 2026-09-03.
{{cite journal}}: CS1 maint: others (link), namely 上田和夫教授 略歴・著作目録 (Biography and bibliography), this introduction 言語をこよなく愛される上田先生, and this examination of The Metamorphosis カフカの『変身』をその言語使用の視点から再読する (Ueda was a Kafka scholar and this being published in his retirement issue seems like too much of a coincidence for it not to be related). - Link to request on RX: Wikipedia:WikiProject_Resource_Exchange/Resource_Request#Fukuoka_University_research_promotion
I expect to use the biography and introduction for WP:ABOUTSELF purposes, as I only have maybe three sentences on his personal life, and if the Kafka part is in fact related to expand more on it, since sources frequently describe its significance in his life without doing much elaboration. The bibliography would be especially useful as, if you can believe it, it is hard to find bibliographic info on a man who usually wrote in German or Japanese in a Japanese journal regarding Yiddish and Ladino. I have exhausted Google Scholar, Internet Archive, and the National Diet Library, with such lax search parameters that about 95% of search results were false positives. These are only available in one stack in a Japanese library in Tokyo... and going to Tokyo to read these is... prohibitively expensive. Ueda is 83 and, as of 14 years ago, has Parkinson's (I guess he was still alive as of 2018). The author of two of the above articles is in his early 70s and has presumably retired, having last published in 2018. 1brianm7 (talk) 02:03, 3 September 2026 (UTC)
- @1brianm7, hi, thanks for your request! Is this for sale somewhere? If it's not something we can relatively feasibly purchase, we're typically unable to support. RAdimer-WMF (talk) 21:51, 4 September 2026 (UTC)
- @RAdimer-WMF Thanks for the reply! The National Diet Library will make a copy of it and sell it (if you scroll down on the three articles linked, and I think you might need to have an account, there is an add to cart option). I wasn't able to figure out what the pricing was exactly, the estimates they give are a bit odd, but I think all 3 would be no more than about US$20 (I have no clue what the shipping price is... I have had poor experiences with shipping from Japan since tariffs). In the add to cart form, it asks for me to input "複写ページ総数", which is translated as "Total number of copied pages", but I have no clue if the value inputted is for printing one page or printing one copy of each set. 1brianm7 (talk) 22:42, 4 September 2026 (UTC)
- @1brianm7: Sorry for the delayed reply. I'm going to check with a colleague and see whether this might be feasible. RAdimer-WMF (talk) 20:51, 18 September 2026 (UTC)
- Ok, cool. Thank you. 1brianm7 (talk) 21:45, 18 September 2026 (UTC)
- If this does turn out to be feasible, I'm wondering if it would be possible to tack on these two reviews of a book he wrote. They are of the same availability as the above sources (I requested at RX 8 days ago). My biggest concern is shipping, since that is not accounted for before ordering and there is a non-zero chance I'll get footed with a $100+ bill. Also noting that there's another angle at accessing these sources that I did not know about at the time, and which I have entered. No clue if it will pan out.

- Resource link and title: Petits Propos Culinaires
- Link to request on RX: Wikipedia:WikiProject Resource Exchange/Resource Request/Archive_206#Joseph Cooper
Petits Propos Culinaires is a food history journal that very few institutions have access to, making RX ill-equipped for handling requests. I am looking to get a years subscription, as I write across food and individual articles are insufficient. There is no real search functionality offered by PPC without a subscription, so I can't make out the extent to which I would be able to write and expand articles, but I can list some examples I am confident in.
Writing an article on Joseph Cooper will require consulting PPC's article, I am looking to get manus Christi to GA should involve reviewing Confectionery Recipes from a Fifteenth-Century Manuscript, upcoming work on Australian cuisine will be much aided by access to The Bland or the Bountiful? Notes on Australian Dining Between the Wars, Edmund Mason, Mrs Irving and the First Australian Cookery Book, When Temperance Met Commerce, and Emergence of Modern Food Culture in Australia (1788–c.1950), recent work on sachertorte was hindered by lack of access to The Viennese Cuisine before Hitler – ‘One Cuisine in the Use of Two Nations’. Whonting (talk) 03:32, 9 August 2026 (UTC)
- @Whonting: thanks for your request! I'll check with my colleagues who support The Wikipedia Library before looking further into whether we can provide a subscription. RAdimer-WMF (talk) 22:05, 18 August 2026 (UTC)
- @RAdimer-WMF, @Whonting I finally fulfilled the Resource Request through ILL. I can confirm that very few institutions have access to this journal as my ILL sat for 2 weeks before it was completed. OhanaUnitedTalk page 17:17, 15 September 2026 (UTC)
- @OhanaUnited: Awesome, thank you! And re: the more general request, we are unable to support journal subscriptions through RESUP. I'd recommend submitting this as a suggestion for The Wikipedia Library. RAdimer-WMF (talk) 21:09, 18 September 2026 (UTC)

I would use this book to develop aviation-related articles regarding Palestine. - Resource link and title: The tankers from A (A.W. Peake) to Z (Zephyrhills) by Walter W. Jaffee
- Link to request on RX: Full book, and one that I plan on taking with me to college
I would use the book to cross-reference and add additional information regarding T-1, T-2, and T-3 tankers on the English Wikipedia, primarily by creating articles for the hundreds of oil tankers (civilian and military) that have yet to be included. Based on the detail in the book, I may also use it to create articles on each design of tanker as well. Template:Type T2-SE-A1 tankers alone lists 324 red-linked tankers, many of which are notable for inclusion. GGOTCC 00:10, 7 July 2026 (UTC)
- Ooh, interesting. I'll send an email with next steps. RAdimer-WMF (talk) 02:08, 11 July 2026 (UTC)
- May I also request The Liberty Ships From A (A.B. Hammond) to Z (Zona Gale), also by Walter W. Jaffee, if that is possible? Of the 2,710 liberty ships, a lot of them are redlinked or poorly documented on wiki. This book has a lot of rare information about the service history of each ship which none of my other sources cover. There are several ships I already want to nominate for DYK, but would need additional information from this book to do so (for instance, the final fates of various ships or details about their history before they sank).
- I initially held off on requesting the book, but learned that the resource support pilot is my best option as my college library focuses on purchasing newly published books and there is no online/library copies accessible. Thank you! GGOTCC 22:19, 4 August 2026 (UTC)

This is an important source for improving articles related to Studio Ghibli, which is difficult to access where I am due to it being in Japanese. I don't believe this title is available as an e-book. I plan to use the book to improve the isekai article, which lacks high-quality sources despite its importance to the subject area, as well as articles for several isekai series. The book covers isekai from a historical, literary, and cultural perspective, with much of the content not previously explored in academic literature. If this request is granted, the book's contents will be used to the greatest extent possible, and I'll also provide excerpts on request to other editors.
